    • Japanese Collection grows at the Hunter J. François Library​


      The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) hosted Mr. Ishikawa Takehiro from JICA’s Head Office in Saint Lucia from July 25th – 30th, 2022. Mr. Takehiro made a special request to visit the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College, to view the Hunter J François Library's special collection on Japanese history and culture, which consists of a donation of 32 books received from Japan earlier this year during National Library Week.

    • First Graduating Class of The JENNÈS Programme


      The first cohort of the Upskilling Academy's JENNÈS Programme celebrated the completion of their studies with a graduation ceremony on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the Pastoral Centre in Marisule, Gros Islet.

    • SALCC Explores Opportunities for Collaboration with India


      H.E. Mr. Shankar Balachandran, High Commissioner of the Republic of India to Saint Lucia, paid a visit to the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. This provided College officials with the opportunity to explore avenues for collaboration, opportunities for study in India as well as exchanges with staff and students.

      SALCC congratulates our own Dr. Cathy James-Springer on publishing her e-book, A Tool for Determining e-Learning Readiness, a guide which helps to determine the capacity and readiness of online learning in organizations.

      The newly commissioned Board of Governors was warmly welcomed by the management and senior staff of the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College. The appointed persons include Mr. Cletus Springer, Mrs. Fortuna Anthony, Dr. Anthony Felicien, Mr. Felix Finistere, Dr. Allison Gajadhar, Mr. Ajani LeBourne, and Ms. Michelle Charles.

    • SALCC Participates in Programme for Community College Administrators


      SALCC forms part of a contingent participating in a Community College Administrator Programme in Florida. The College is represented by Principal Dr. Keith Nurse, Ms. Celeste Regis, and Mr. Brent St. Catherine.

      In Saint Lucia, the month of October is designated as Creole Heritage month. With that, the staff and students of SALCC celebrate in style as they showcase their various talents and put on our very first Virtual Talent Exposé.

    • Innovation in Education Contest Winners


      An Innovation in Education Contest was organized for primary and secondary school teachers around Saint Lucia, sponsored by the Taiwan ICT in Educational Development Project. The competition sought teachers’ creativity in developing digital content to enhance teaching and learning.

    • Future Leaders Youth Forum

      Prominent youth of Saint Lucia engaged in a meaningful conversation with Dr. Hyginus Leon, President of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB). Organized by the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College, the forum took place during Dr. Leon's official visit to his homeland.

      The College congratulates second-year student Melanie James on emerging as the 1st place winner in the 2021 ECCB/RSS-ARU Creative Youth Competition.

    • SALCC Supports Sister College

      Campus Life

      Following the eruption St. Vincent's La Soufriere Volcano, SALCC supports sister institution, St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC), with the chance for students to complete their academic year. The College offers transportation assistance, supplies, and teacher training for virtual instruction.

    • Innovation Hub and Gateways to Global Careers


      Brent St. Catherine, Head of SALCC's Innovation Hub and Gateways Programme, elaborates on the College's spearheading of the first fully-equipped innovation centre in the OECS region, alongside Gateways' academic initiative.

    • SALCC Students Benefit from Internship Opportunities


      Twenty-five (25) students of Sir Arthur Lewis Community College will receive internship opportunities through the Sustainable Agriculture in the Caribbean Project (SAC) and the World University Service of Canada (WUSC). The project targets women and youth in agriculture, and the students will gain invaluable experiences in agricultural sustainability.

      The Sir Arthur Lewis Community College is proud to assist Miss Tyler Theophane (Miss Saint Lucia World) on her journey to becoming Miss World 2021. The College provides capacity building in the areas of Spanish language, elocution and public speaking - key components to Tyler's success in the event.

      SALCC is now the proud home to the personal literature collection of Sir Derek Walcott. The official unveiling of the Derek Walcott Library took place on Friday, January 22, as part of the Nobel Laureate Festival.
