    • Japanese Collection grows at the Hunter J. François Library​

      The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) hosted Mr. Ishikawa Takehiro from JICA’s Head Office in Saint Lucia from July 25th – 30th, 2022. Mr. Takehiro made a special request to visit the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College, to view the Hunter J François Library's special collection on Japanese history and culture, which consists of a donation of 32 books received from Japan earlier this year during National Library Week.

    • First Graduating Class of The JENNÈS Programme

      The first cohort of the Upskilling Academy's JENNÈS Programme celebrated the completion of their studies with a graduation ceremony on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the Pastoral Centre in Marisule, Gros Islet.

      H.E. Mr. Shankar Balachandran, High Commissioner of the Republic of India to Saint Lucia, paid a visit to the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College on Tuesday, July 12, 2022.       An Innovation in Education Contest was organized for primary and secondary school teachers around Saint Lucia, sponsored by the Taiwan ICT in Educational Development Project. The competition sought teachers’ creativity in developing digital content to enhance teaching and learning.

      Prominent youth of Saint Lucia engaged in a meaningful conversation with Dr. Hyginus Leon, President of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB). Organized by the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College, the forum took place during Dr. Leon's official visit to his homeland.

      Following the eruption St. Vincent's La Soufriere Volcano, SALCC supports sister institution, St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC), with the chance for students to complete their academic year. The College offers transportation assistance, supplies, and teacher training for virtual instruction.

      Brent St. Catherine, Head of SALCC's Innovation Hub and Gateways Programme, elaborates on the College's spearheading of the first fully-equipped innovation centre in the OECS region, alongside Gateways' academic initiative.

    • SALCC Students Benefit from Internship Opportunities

      Twenty-five (25) students of Sir Arthur Lewis Community College will receive internship opportunities through the Sustainable Agriculture in the Caribbean Project (SAC) and the World University Service of Canada (WUSC). The project targets women and youth in agriculture, and the students will gain invaluable experiences in agricultural sustainability.

      The Sir Arthur Lewis Community College is proud to assist Miss Tyler Theophane (Miss Saint Lucia World) on her journey to becoming Miss World 2021.
