On Friday, July 15, 2022, members from the Science, Technology, Innovation and Sustainability Unit and the Marketing and Communications Unit of the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College participated in SHE's GREAT! STEAM Camp Career Fair, hosted by Girls of A Feather in collaboration with IREX.
The Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM) Camp is a combination of STEAM and leadership activities, where students will feel inspired, equipped, and connected. Through expert talks, field experiences, and technical workshops, they will engage with STEAM experts, and network with STEAM and Gender-Based Violence prevention and response experts.
Through leadership sessions, they will further develop their leadership and technical skills, create a personal leadership road map, and revise and develop action plans, including measuring and evaluating the impact of their projects. Students were exposed to the practical aspects of science through various demonstrations and experiments such as colour changes and air quality testing.
