The launch ceremony was held on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 by Principal Dr. Keith Nurse, Dr. Winston Phulgence, Dean of Academic Affairs and Dr. Cathy James Springer, Head of Institutional Effectiveness and Transformation.

The new Bachelors programmes are designed to meet the demand for learners interested in upgrading their skills and marketability in the rapidly changing landscape for employment and entrepreneurship with issues like climate change, sustainability, public health, and digital disruption at the forefront.

Business Administration and Innovation aims to facilitate a wider cohort of young professionals in Saint Lucia to gain a recognized terminal degree in a highly sought-after area of specialization.

The Launch of SALCC's New BA Programmes was proudly supported by Mr. Robert Fevrier, Executive Marketing Manager, 1st National Bank Saint Lucia Limited, a long-standing partner in the provision of financial support in the form of educational loans.

Tourism and Hospitality Management responds to the requirements of building back better in Saint Lucia and the Caribbean's largest economic sector, with the inclusion of sustainability as a core dimension of the learning experience.

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the high incidence of chronic non-communicable diseases have elevated the demand for public health workers and specialists which is catered for in the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Health.

Like the former, the BA in Environmental Studies and Sustainability is a first in the OECS sub-region and prepares students to be change-makers in the areas of climate change adaptation, mitigation and action as well as equips graduates for the burgeoning opportunities in the green and blue economic sectors.

They highlighted the relevance of these new Degree programmes and assured that the offerings were benchmarked against world standards and that the degrees are transferable to universities worldwide.

Dr. Nurse highlighted that these new offerings will enhance the competitiveness of the Saint Lucian economy by providing a cadre of skilled young professionals;

The introduction of these new Bachelors Degrees are in alignment with the three pillars of Sustainability, Innovation and Entrepreneurship that drive the new mission of The College as it pivots to University status.
