About Agribusiness Entrepreneurship
Agribusiness Entrepreneurship bridges the gap between traditional agricultural practices and modern entrepreneurial principles.
The programme equips students with a comprehensive skill set that encompasses technical expertise in agriculture, while nurturing a strategic mindset for business.
By instilling within its learners a deep understanding of the agri-food value chain and market dynamics, the programme empowers individuals to develop their capacity in creating, managing, and scaling an agri-business enterprise.
Learning Outcomes
- Students demonstrate knowledge of scientific principles critical to the production and handling of decisions in the agri-product system.
- Learners apply business management and marketing principles to agricultural operations.
- Practitioners develop skills in resource allocation — applying technical knowledge and budgeting in the making of decisions that impact profitability.
- Students foster their ability to work efficiently, both independently and in teams.
- Students improve their understanding of safety within the agricultural field — proper handling of equipment, food, pesticides, etc.
- Practitioners can leverage the ethical expectations of the agriculture and business sectors for profitable decision making.
- Practitioners enhance their critical thinking and problem-solving skills in agri-business scenarios.

Agribusiness Entrepreneurship takes 2 years to complete and rewards students with an Associate Degree.

Entry Requirements

- Five CSEC Grades I, II or III passes including English A and Mathematics.
- CSEC passes in the following subjects would be an asset:
- Principles of Business
- Principles of Accounts
- Agricultural Science
- Chemistry
- Biology
- Mature student status: A person who has reached their 21st Birthday, with at least three years of work experience in the agricultural sector will also be eligible for consideration. An interview with the applicant is required.
- If the applicant does not have passes in English A and Mathematics at CSEC (or equivalent) a prior learning assessment will be required.
