Nicole Sargusingh

Nicole Sargusingh, an accomplished St. Lucian, is a lecturer in Spanish Language and Hispanic Literature at the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College. She previously taught Spanish, art, history, and English literature at the Vide Bouteille Secondary School and served as Head of the Modern Language Department and Grade Level Dean.

Nicole holds a degree in Spanish Language and certifications in ‘The Teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language’ from the UWI, St. Augustine Campus, ‘Universidad Nacional de Colombia’ and The ‘Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso’, Chile, respectively.

With over two decades in education, Nicole's passion for languages and cultures led her to explore Spain and Venezuela. The SALCC graduate also works as a translator, private tutor, MC and writer. She is very passionate about preserving St. Lucian history and heritage,and has worked as an advocate with the St. Lucia Archaeological and Historical Society.

As a St. Joseph’s Convent alumna and a talented freelance visual artist, Nicole specializes in concept art, particularly acrylics on canvas. Her notable works include commissioned pieces which are the focal exhibits at Razzmatazz Restaurant in Rodney Bay, St. Lucia. She is currently a reviewer for the Primary School Spanish Curriculum, an initiative of the Ministry of Education and CAMDU, and has experience as a private editor, recently editing a poetry anthology by a local poet, available on ‘Amazon’.

Nicole's interests extend to archaeology, poetry, world cuisine, Latin dance, and singing. She balances her professional life with her role as a proud mother of a teen and a toddler, exemplifying a multifaceted career and personal life.
