SALCC Congratulates Jossette Sonson

Academics

The Sir Arthur Lewis Community College congratulates Jossette Sonson, a first-year student of the Administrative Office Management programme, who has been awarded the inaugural Robert Collis Barrow Memorial Scholarship.

The Robert Collis Barrow Memorial Scholarship Programme seeks to provide financial assistance to a deserving individual who has gained access to or is attending the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College. Ms Sonson will receive full tuition for the duration of her studies, upon maintaining a GPA of 3.5 in her semester examinations.

The Robert Collis Barrow Memorial Scholarship Programme was established to honour the memory of Robert Collis who passed away on August 1st, 2019. Dr Barrow was an alumnus of the A-Level College and was very supportive of the downtrodden and deeply committed to improving the academic and other career possibilities of people around him. He was an academic mentor to many and was always concerned with bringing out the brilliance in friends as well as passing acquaintances.

Mrs Janice Barrow-Dupal presented the award to Ms Sonson in honour of her late brother, Dr Robert Collis Barrow.
