About The Hunter J. François Library

A welcoming and inclusive space that supports the academic success of staff, students and faculty through access to credible information, resources, and services.

The Hunter J. François Library was established on February 27, 1993 and named in honor of Mr. Hunter J. François, a renowned Saint Lucian intellectual and the island's first Minister of Education.

The library has been instrumental in advancing access to academic resources and support for SALCC students and faculty. With the recent opening of the Derek Walcott Library, demand for research services has grown, reinforcing the library’s role as an essential educational resource for the college and the broader community.
