Defensive Driving

Defensive Driving is an interactive, eight-hour course that is delivered 100% online and synchronously. The course is accessible to all persons who currently possess a Provisional Driver’s License.
Food and Beverage Operations offers a blend of all aspects of food and beverage. The programme exposes the student to the management and operations of the kitchen, dining room, bar, events and catering aspects of the hospitality sector and places emphasis on providing efficient, quality service.
Students graduating from this programme will be well rounded in all areas relating to food and beverage operations.
This programme is a pre-requisite for the Culinary Arts programme.
If you have a passion and talent for food, consider starting a business around your cooking. This could be a food truck, café, bakery, or even your own catering company!
Caterers offer their services in food and beverage operations at various events, such as graduations, weddings, parties and conferences. They prepare and serve food to their clients based on specified requests, dietary preferences, and dietary restrictions such as allergies.
A Sommelier is a wine professional trained in all aspects of the service. Some of these include a good taste in wine selection, both on its own and when paired with specific dishes, as well as the storage of wine and related beverages.
Sommeliers generally find work in hotels, restaurants, bars, and parties.
As students, we got the opportunity to run the College's restaurant, taking turns between serving patrons and preparing their meals.
Being in the kitchen is what I enjoyed most about this programme. As someone who loves being hands-on and creative, this programme was definitely a great experience.
Food and Beverage Operations takes 2 years to complete and rewards students with an Associate Degree.
