About Automotive Engineering

associate degree

Automotive Engineering provides students with a wide knowledge of Automobile Engineering and specific skills to enable them to function as technicians, or to pursue higher education qualifications in Engineering.

The programme covers automobile design, development and manufacture. It sensitizes students to the changing principles and processes employed in the construction and functioning of vehicles and fuel propelled engines.

Learning Outcomes

  • Learners will be able to apply the fundamentals of Physics, Mathematics, and Mechanics in the brainstorming of solutions to automotive challenges.
  • Students are acquainted with the different types of automotive propulsion systems, such as internal combustion engines, electric motors, and hybrid systems.
  • Students leverage their understanding of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software for the designing and prototyping of automotive components.
  • Students learn to consider safety and regulations when approaching automotive design, most notably consumer welfare and the environmental impacts associated with specific techniques and components.
