Overview

The increasing demand for food, water and energy sources as well as issues of sustainability, climate change and biodiversity have become increasingly critical at the local, regional and international levels.

Therefore, the BA in Environmental Studies and Sustainability is designed to help learners better understand and improve our relationship with the natural world. By focusing on the social sciences and humanities, learners will develop understanding of the environment and how economic and political factors have contributed to environmental issues as well as develop real-world solutions to environmental and sustainability challenges.

The programme offers a comprehensive education in key content areas such as anthropology, geographic information system, sustainability, climate change, policy and management. Additionally, the programme includes various practicum experiences an internship based on the apprenticeship model and a capstone designed to give students experiences in research in preparation for a range of professional or graduate opportunities. Any graduand of this programme will be well poised for a career in research, education, government, public service or industry.
