About Industrial Arts

The Industrial Arts programme is designed to equip aspiring teachers with the necessary skills and practical experience to properly train their students in a range of technical subjects.

Practitioners of this programme are poised to become proficient instructors, able to facilitate a solid education in settings such as technical institutions and workforce training programmes.

  1. At least five (5) CSEC subjects (Grades 1, 2; or Grade 3 from June 1998) or GCE equivalent. These subjects should include English A, Mathematics, and at least one subject in the TVET/Industrial Arts area, also Associate Degree in TVET subjects.
  2. Interview required and essay component.
  3. CSEC in Technical Drawing, Building Construction and or Associate Degree in Building Construction.
