Overview

In this programme the student learns about the overall management of tourism within the destination, with emphasis on adopting a sustainable approach to the development of the industry. Some areas of study include policy, planning, management and sustainable development.

Students will be equipped to meaningfully contribute to the operations of the tourism industry by working areas such as destination management and travel.

Objectives

This programme seeks to;

  • Develop a progressive educational environment where learners can thrive, and content is always driven by industry standards.
  • Engender highly skilled and socially productive members of the hospitality community through an inclusive classroom, focused on industry trends, best practices and innovation.
  • Create a foundation where learners can begin to meet their full potential, develop a positive self-image, and become critical thinkers through high operational standards.

Entry Requirements

  1. Five (5) CSEC passes — Grades I, II or III (Mathematics and English required). Any of the following subjects would be an asset;
    • A Business Subject
    • English Language
    • A Foreign Language
    • Mathematics
