About Environmental Studies and Climate Change
Environmental Studies and Climate Change delves into the factors influencing population growth in the Caribbean, while also examining our relationship with the natural environment and its resources.
Emphasis is placed on the Caribbean's energy production and consumption, and how it affects population parameters, poverty, and environmental sustainability. Learners develop a finer understanding and appreciation of the inter-dependence of humanity and the environment.
Learning Outcomes
- Explain the relationships and interactions among living organisms and their environment and analyze their impact on the biological community.
- Explain the demographic characteristics of the human population.
- Describe the sustainable development of natural resources.
- Analyze the biochemical/nutrient cycles within ecosystems with a focus on certain elements and the importance of these cycles to ecosystems.
- Demonstrate how energy and matter flow through ecosystems, such as through the construction of a food web.

Environmental Studies and Climate Change takes 2 years to complete and rewards students with an Associate Degree.
