About Spanish
The Associate Degree in Spanish engages students seeking proficiency in the Spanish language, delivering practice and instruction at an internationally recognized level.
The programme facilitates a gateway to further study in the language, as well as primes learners for opportunities where Spanish may be an asset or prerequisite.
All components of the Spanish language, including culture and literature, are embedded into the learning experience.
Learning Outcomes
- Discuss opinions on a wide range of current topics;
- Identify the main ideas in newscasts, radio and TV interviews;
- Respond to questions based on listening and reading materials;
- Use suitable and varied vocabulary, idioms and grammatical structures to present information;
- Evaluate strengths and weaknesses of arguments;
- Find literal and implied meaning in texts;
- Analyse literary works;
- Conduct research effectively and efficiently through the major research skills;
- Value characteristics of people from different cultures and socio-economic backgrounds;
