About Front End Web Development

Front End Web Development equips learners with the basic skills needed to build interactive and responsive user experiences on the Web. The programme covers the main languages used in the design and creation of websites, namely HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Also explored is the Client / Server Architecture of websites, and the different server-side< languages used. These include PHP, MySQL and Node.js.

Learners will also be introduced to the Mobile App Environment, and the practices, tools and techniques of the field. Emphasis is placed on the standards and trends of the mobile app industry.

While this field generally pertains to websites, apps, and software, UX / UI design is also integral in the production of physical equipment and hardware.

Critical components of the job include UI design and the creation of responsive layouts, as well as wireframing, testing and remaining up to date with current design trends.

Mobile App Development

Mobile app developers create software for mobile devices, and handle the design, production, testing and deployment of apps for a different platforms like iOS and Android.

Nuances of the profession include database management, back-end integration and cross-platform development.
