Overview

Creative events such as carnivals, music festivals and fashion shows are at the heart of the cultural and creative industries and our Caribbean life. This programme seeks to combine creativity, business and management skills with the experience of planning and staging a wide range of events.

Learners will gain experience and knowledge of creative values and processes by working on collaborative projects which develop organisational and business skills as well as creative and management skills which are essential in the industry. Learners will receive a foundation for success in a range of careers including festivals management, events management as well as venue and venue management in the arts, cultural and creative industries.

Entry Requirements

  1. In addition to the general entry requirements for SALCC, CSEC passes (Grades I, II or III) in the following subjects;
    • Information Technology;
    • Principles of Accounts would be an asset;
    • Principles of Business would be an asset;
    • Textiles, Clothing and Fashion would be an asset;
    • Theatre Arts and/or Visual Arts
  2. Mature Students status – A portfolio highlighting experience, or an application essay explaining motivations, any relevant skills and experience, and ambitions for the future.
