Defensive Driving
Defensive Driving is an interactive, eight-hour course that is delivered 100% online and synchronously. The course is accessible to all persons who currently possess a Provisional Driver’s License.
Animation and Design covers the traditional and digital techniques used in 2D and 3D animation. Learners will enter the world of theory and mechanics behind animation development, from storyboarding to post-production.
Through hands-on training, practitioners will learn and apply the twelve principles of animation, which are implemented in both 2D and 3D mediums. A knowledge of design and film is essential to make a well-rounded animation student.
Therefore learners will be introduced to basic design principles and skills, and topics for broader understanding of subject and context of design. Learners will be required to apply those principles to the development of new media, audio-visual products, graphics and animation.
Animators bring characters, objects and entire scenes to life through the use of movement and articulation.
Different techniques of animation can be used, including hand-drawn animation, computer-generated imagery (CGI), and stop-motion.
Ultimately, an animator's job is to create dynamic and engaging visuals for films, series, video games, advertisements and other forms of media.
Graphic designers leverage the principles of typography (fonts), composition, and colour to craft visual products such as logos, flyers, websites, album covers, and packaging.
Through their work, graphic designers aim to convey messages and enhance the aesthetic appeal of products and brands.
Storyboard artists plan the sequence of a production, often a film or animated segment, through illustrations presented in a series of panels.
These panels help directors and producers understand the flow of the narrative, as well as the key actions and camera angles proposed, before actual production begins.
Digital artists use digital devices and software to produce their artwork.
A variety of work opportunities present themselves in this field, including concept art, book and album cover design, character design, and digital illustration in general.
3D modellers digitally create three-dimensional representations of objects, characters and environments.
They use specialized software to sculpt, texture, and refine models, which can be used in various industries such as video game design, film, virtual reality.
Animation and Design takes 2 years to complete and rewards students with a Associate Of Applied Arts Degree.
