Sociological Thought and Change

The Associate Degree in Sociological Thought and Change Concentration exposes learners to a critical and systematic analysis of sociological perspectives, social institutions, social issues/problems; and an understanding of the nature and structure of society in general. This will enable students to develop “the Sociological imagination” (C. W. Mills 1959). The research component of the course allows learners to harness their analytical skills by engaging in the research process. Moreover, learners will acquire the requisite skills, knowledge and competencies’ required for further studies and employment opportunities.
