Mechanical Engineering

The Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering combines several general education courses with specific courses in Manufacturing, Applied Engineering and Electricity. The programme also includes practical courses in Welding and Machine Shop. It aims to prepare students for professional careers in engineering and to function in the industry or to pursue further studies in all branches of Mechanical Engineering.


Requirements for programme Entry:

The entry requirement for this programme are minimum of five (5) passes in subjects at the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC), which will included (but not restricted to) Mathematics, English A, Physics and Technical Drawing and at least one of the following: Mechanical Studies, Electricity, Chemistry, Building Technology, Information Technology, Construction and Visual Arts. These entry requirements are in keeping with the requirements of SALCC.
