John Reid

John Reid is a growth-oriented CEO with significant experience forming and executing strategies to expand businesses in emerging and non-urban markets.He is a respected leader who has continuously demonstrated strength in recruiting, building and supporting winning teams and executing effective stakeholder engagement strategies.John has spent his entire 30-year career in the telecommunications industry where he has developed a record for driving growth,leading complex integrations,improving customer experience,and introducing a culture of innovation and employee satisfaction.

Most recently,John was Chief Executive Officer for Cable & Wireless (C&W),a $2.3B subsidiary of Liberty Latin America, and managed a team of 7,000 people across 25 Caribbean and Latin American countries.He contributed to the successful integration of C&W into Liberty and led a broad transformation, achieving a step change in productivity through a focus on operating model redesign, organizational efficiency and product rationalization.

Prior to the acquisition by Liberty, John was President of the Consumer Group at C&W leading all countries across the C&W footprint, and having oversight of content, customer experience, sales, marketing, and communications. During his tenure in the role, he launched the very successful ‘Flow Sports’ broadcast network and spearheaded the acquisition of key sports rights including Premier League, Olympics and NFL, as well as a suite of complementary products including a mobile sports app.

Prior to C&W, John was part of the founding leadership team at Columbus Communications, spending a decade in progressively senior roles, including President and Chief Operating Officer of the Caribbean operations. He played an integral role in the merger of Columbus with C&W. During his leadership at Columbus, B2C revenue grew by 145% to $360M and EBITDA grew by 138% to $148M. John also successfully led the integration of several cable television acquisitions, notably in Grenada, St. Vincent, Barbados and St. Lucia, and oversaw the launch of a greenfield operation in Curacao. From 1993-2004, John held various roles with Canadian based Persona Communications, progressing from a Director of Sales and Marketing to the position of Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer. He started his career with Cable Atlantic in Canada.

In 2016, John was recognized by Global Telecom Business as one of the top five leaders from the Caribbean and Latin America Power 100. John has broad experience as a Chairman on multiple industry association boards and a charitable foundation.
