This Programme aims to give the students a basic knowledge of the theoretical and practical aspect to enable him/her to repair domestic air conditioners and refrigerators.

This Certificate is viewed as a post-secondary education qualification that is awarded on the successful completion of a prescribed programme of studies that is defined by credits attained for a series of courses. The unit of measurement for the Certificate Programme is the Credit, which is defined as the academic value of a theory course delivered for one hour per week during a full-length semester. A practical course may need more time assigned for a credit.

Each Certificate Programme will consist of a balance of General Education, Programme, and Elective courses that would ensure that the recipient of the Certificate Programme has acquired Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes that will:-

  • Serve as credentials in their own right for entry into certain vocations, occupations and professions;
  • Provide articulation and portability with other College programmes/ post-secondary programmes regionally and internationally;
  • Provide increased access to higher education;
  • Facilitate a reasonable contribution to national and regional development.

 

Entry Requirements

Successful completion of Senior Primary School or mature students (over 21 years). Interview required.

Graduation with Honours

The following system of scholastic honours is defined by the College to mark outstanding achievement in courses or programmes:

Distinction: 80% - 100%      Credit: 65% - 79%       Pass: 50% - 64%
